Madam Victoria Aborvor Retires

On Friday, 25th September, 2026 which happened to be a Continuous Professional Development day for teachers in Ghana, Madam Victoria Aborvor brought her meritorious service with the Ghana Education Service to a glorious end.

Surrounded by the staff of her workplace, Ho United M/A Primary School, they were grateful to the Almighty God for her life and accomplishments.

Recounting her journey in the chalk and talk fraternity, Madam Aborvor mentioned that she stopped schooling in Class 3 because of the death of her father. Her mother could not cater for her numerous siblings and they resorted to farming and other ventures to keep them going.

She did not attend school but became a teacher in 1978 at Aklamakpetoe in the Volta Region.
A headteacher approached her to cater for the nursery children in his school. With time, other members of staff taught her and guided her to sit for exams which earned her Middle School Leaving Certificate.

Madam Aborvor was thankful to God for all his love and all the staff for their companionship. She encouraged them to put all their worries on God.
She advised them to hold the job in earnest and prayed for strength for them.

The headmistress of her last school, Madam Beauty Agbeve congratulated her and was thankful for her stewardship to Ghana over the years. “May you enjoy the fruit of your labour. Enjoy the sweetness of retirement.”, she added.

Tears of joy were expressed as a lot of her colleagues testified of her patience, thoughtfulness and care for others and tapped into her blessings. It was mentioned that Madam Victoria Aborvor taught a great number of learners and trained eleven orphans with love.

Madam Victoria Aborvor mentioned Mr Agbesi, Madams Komlaga, Nyame, Mordey, Kudoka, Kwashie among others who helped her in her journey in the teaching vocation.

On behalf of the family, the daughter of Madam Aborvor thanked the staff for the cordial relationship they had with her mother.
