Time With The Ho Area Head

In a meeting of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry(PEMEM) of the Ho Area of The Church of Pentecost, the Area Head, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo has had a fruitful discussion, established relationships and shared his vision with the ministry on Sunday, 1st February, 2026 at the church auditorium of PIWC-Ho, Mawuli Estate, Volta Region.
The Pastorate and their wives, officers and members were present for the maiden meeting.

Apostle Agyei Kwafo who is also an Executive Council Member of the church spoke to the men on how to become resourceful and influential using Abraham, Moses and Paul as examples.

“If you want to carry the Presence of God, be very great and excel in business, value time. He who jokes with time jokes with his life. Any time you delay, you delay God’s time table. Respond to the Holy Ghost on time. Value time, time is money.”, he stressed.

Apostle Kwafo touched on other values such as righteous living, being a genuine Christian, being prayerful, expressing the right attitude towards work and showing respect to people.
“Is it not possible for the glorified Christ to reveal himself to us as he did to John? Court, build, fall in deep love in your relationship with Jesus Christ.”, he challenged the congregation.

Apostle E A Kwafo who is the Volta/Oti Regional Coordinating Chair also touched on marriage. “You are the head of your household to instruct and command the household in the ways of God. The peace in a home depends on the man as the head.
Moses was a married man but he had an opportunity to see the back of God. I plead with all men to have peace in their homes. Pray and ask God to help you with your heart if you have the challenge.”, he admonished.

He also added, “Be content with your wife. Do not lust after the other’s wife and young ladies. This gathers all sorts of curses. There is no glory in such adulterous behaviour. Our standard is higher than that of Abraham.”

The ministry members expressed their challenges for a fatherly discussion with Apostle Kwafo during the question and answer session.

The Women Ministry members were around to offer their fraternal support.

The Ho Area PEMEM Leader, Pastor Peter Adams gave thanks to the Almighty God, Apostle Emmanuel and Mrs Agartha Agyei Kwafo and all who were present for a successful programme.

Home Call; Pastor Daniel Kofi Amegavi(Rtd), A Life Well Lived.

History and events of the past years have been recalled at the funeral and memorial service of the Late Pastor Daniel Kofi Amegavi(Rtd) of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, where the rank and files in the church and his family gathered to celebrate a life well lived and a legacy to the glory of God. The event also served as a reunion for family and friends. This happened on Saturday, 8th February 2025 at Children’s Park, Ho.

The various tributes though from different sources gave an illustration of the selfless life of Pastor D K Amegavi(Rtd); serving in the Lord’s vineyard to the core and to the end.

Celebrating a lifetime worthy of the call

Born on 5th January 1934, he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Personal Saviour when he left his practice as a fetish priest. In 1970, he formally became a member of The Apostolic Church-Ghana where his dedication and commitment to the Lord’s ministry became evident. D. K., as he was fondly called became enthusiastic with evangelism within the church.

Captured memories

With devotion, sacrifice and divine grace, he rose through the levels and became a pastor. He successfully served at Ho, Anyanui, Dzolokpuita, Abutia, Oterkpolu and Damang. His humility, orderliness, spiritual revival, wisdom, kindness are mentioned to the glory of God. He made worship accessible to all and sundry.

He served the Lord and his church selflessly. He remained steadfast and focused on his call.
He would carry the generator through valleys, mountains and muddy roads to and from crusade grounds.
Often he had to move with the live generator connected to a flash light to show the way for himself as well as the members back home.

Memories

He distinguished himself as an excellent leader and served in the various districts he was posted to with distinction.
As a skilled orator and linguist, Pastor Amegavi(Rtd) broke language barriers at church meetings and conventions, and did the interpretation impeccably with flair.
“He was a great asset during national conventions and crusades as an interpreter.”, the tribute of the General Council of The Apostolic Church-Ghana affirmed.
He sang melodiously and could tease as well. Additionally he was well versed in conflict resolution.

The clergy standing by Papa’s coffin

He constructed mission houses, church buildings and acquired property for the church. At a point, he was an Area Property Officer. No wonder, his coffin was designed in the form of a church building.
He retired in 2007, after serving for several decades.

The coffin of Pastor Daniel Kofi Amegavi(Rtd) at a glance

Pastor Daniel Kofi Amegavi(Rtd) made an impact and left a legacy. He was known for his discipline, unmatched commitment, fearlessness, independence and above all his integrity was topnotch. Speaking at his funeral service, the General Secretary of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Apostle Alexander Boateng remarked that Pastor Daniel Kofi Amegavi(Rtd) was a gift of God to the church. Together with his wife Theresa, they did very well in instilling discipline and Christ likeness in their children, the six strong men.

Using the scripture texts, Job 6: 24 and Mathew 12: 36, Apostle Boateng spoke to the topic, “Passing the core subjects of life.”

“Core subjects are essential subjects that are critical and crucial to the success of every student. They are fundamental and connected to the other subjects.
The school of life has two core subjects: Do and Say.” he explained.

“If you know what to say and do at the right time appropriately and correctly it serves as the springboard for life.”, he advised the congregation.
“One expression we can always say is, “Jesus Christ is the Lord.” This statement is on the path to salvation and healing. It appropriates benefits to us.”, he taught the Church.

He reminded the congregation that Jesus Christ is with them in all endeavours, and calms the storms of life.

Have you passed both the core subjects of life?, Apostle Boateng asked the congregation.

A section of the congregation

This funeral of Pastor Daniel Kofi Amegavi(Rtd) reminds us that there is an afterlife. Following Jesus Christ you become like him even on earth here before the hereafter. He gave Jesus Christ to the perishing, healed the sick and brought comfort to many.
The remarkable life he lived served as a testament to the power of redemption, faith and perseverance.

From a humble beginning, Pastor Daniel Kofi Amegavi(Rtd) ended gloriously by the grace of God.

Some scenes during the memorial service

Pastor Daniel Kofi Amegavi(Rtd) passed on to eternity at the ripe age of 90 with his legacy etched in gold into the hearts of those he served with a melody of devotion, sacrifice and divine grace as the tribute by The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Ho Area stated.

Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah, A Humble Vessel of God.

Ask me of a man of God who is humble.
I will straight away mention Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah of The Church of Pentecost. He is an Executive Committee Member of the Evangelism Ministry, the founder and leader of the El-Bethel Prayer Centre, past Presiding Elder of PIWC-Ho. He is on quite a number of boards and committees in the church and in town.

Elder S Y Peasah on his knees in prayer

He is married to a fire brand woman full of the Holy Spirit, Mrs Deaconess Doris Delali Peasah. They have a beautiful family.

Elder Seth Yaw and Mrs Doris Peasah

I have known Elder S Y Peasah since 2010. Actually, I heard his name before stepping foot in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region, Ghana.

Elder Peasah is domiciled in Ho. As a servant of God, the work of God takes him to both near and far places across the globe, example Mali, South Africa, Israel, several countries in Europe, etc.
For Togo which shares a boundary with Ghana on the eastern side, the citizens frequently enjoy so much of Papa Peasah’s ministrations. He tells us Togo is his second home.

Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah praying at church

Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah is a power minister of the Gospel. He operates in almost all the Holy Spirit gifts. He is seen in the aspects of miracles, healing, casting out demons, prophesying, word of knowledge and wisdom, speaking in diverse tongues, etc. He teaches Bible based truths and frequently receives Holy Spirit inspired songs.

Elder S Y Peasah leads prayer for the church with Pastor D F Akayue

He has served in almost all the ministries of The Church of Pentecost at the various levels, notably the Evangelism Ministry. He has a strong passion for evangelism. He got converted during an evangelism outreach by The Church of Pentecost. Once in a while, he recounts on how he and a couple of friends carried a generator and other items from Kpetoe to Ho on foot.

Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah with some church leaders

He has always supported his virtuous wife, Mrs Peasah in all roles she plays in and outside the church. I am proud to announce to you that, they are married for over 32 years and still counting. They are role models for a lot of young christian couples.

Of the things I admire about him most are his frankness, generosity, respect and love for mankind, both young and old, above all is his humility.

Mrs Doris Peasah led the church in a call to worship
Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah lies on the floor in worship of his Maker

He tells us of his not too exciting backgrounds during his childhood at Dwenase, his hometown in the Eastern Region of Ghana. A man of his calibre always tells the congregation of how God has been gracious to him and his household. Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah always gives the glory to God. He wholly appreciates how far God has brought him.

Papa and one of his sons

He has a very good memory and easily recollects events in history. For the history of The Church of Pentecost, Ho Area, from the early 1980s, Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah is a sure help.

He loves evangelism and setting the captives free from the kingdom of darkness. As such, Elder and Mrs Peasah gladly honour invitations from other Holy Spirit led churches and denominations.

Elder S Y Peasah and his brother Elder Hope Dzikunu

Elder and Mrs Peasah are involved in a lot of philanthropy. They donate to institutions and individuals. They have a high level of prominence with respect to tithes, various forms of offerings and donations at their local church. Every end of year, they organize banquets for all the worshippers at El-Bethel Prayer Centre.

After church service, he cannot leave early because there are always scores of people from far and near who come to see him. There are instances people join church services because they want to see Elder for advice, healing, funds, and other needs. It is only an accommodative person who exhibits such patience.

Elder Peasah converses with his sister

What makes him provoked is when someone uses his authority to suppress the other. He immediately intervenes for the suppressed person. He is totally for justice and equity. He is actually a voice for the voiceless, and a father to many orphans.

Having a tete-a-tete

Another aspect of him is his acknowledgement and admiration for talents, gifts and services of persons.
One spectacular example is his ever readiness for enyomedia, a budding christian media started by this reporter. He has always granted interviews at either short or long notices.

A photo including Enyonam of enyomedia

He has respect for children. He is always seen either praying for or giving gifts to children around.
His love, dedication, respect, towards the aged is unmatched.

Elder Prof Seth Yaw Peasah has love for books and he is widely read on a lot of subjects other than religion.

Elder S Y Peasah with both the young and old

Papa Peasah always inspires people to be better than they are and he explains that God the Creator has given humans the ability to rule, dominate and conquer.

Anyone who knows Elder S Y Peasah may never forget his interpretation skills. He has done a lot of interpretation for well known ministers across the world who find themselves especially in the Volta Region on international platforms. He speaks impeccable Ewe laced with proverbs. He is good in languages and as such does not find it difficult in translation of songs received in one language to the other.
He is not selfish, at the just ended Christmas Convention of Pentecost International Worship Centre, Ho, he prayed for and imparted unto people who wanted to do interpretation.

Some scenes from the El-Bethel Prayer Centre

I asked my children to describe Elder Peasah.

Evandy Celestine Mornyuie (17):

He is a servant of God, God fearing and hardworking. He loves people.

Apostle Samuel Noble Mornyuie (16):
A humble person, tolerant, generous, speaks the truth, goal getter (dream achiever), example, he is building a huge temple at the El-Bethel Prayer Centre of The Church of Pentecost.
