Brother Atta Panyin, 43 who was a fetish priest for 18 years tells of his story. He was born and bred at Asankragua, Saa Kronkron, in the Western Region of Ghana. According to him, the men in his family usually died between ages 30 to 35.
He heard about power for protection of life in Burkina Faso. He consulted some people in his area and then travelled to Burkina Faso. At the place, he was given a pot that contained iron filings, gold dust and other things from rivers.
He returned and then practised the work of a fetish priest.
He said during his fetish days, he was kind to people in need and did not see his fetish priest practice as a sin or something evil. He said the spirits behind his practice worked to a point, deceits and lies also took active part of his activity.
According to him, he saw the image of Jesus Christ in several times and ways. When he surrendered to Jesus Christ, Pastor Anthony Safo at Asankragua was around to burn all the fetish items.
Atta Panyin himself burnt his roofing sheets, wood for roofing and all properties acquired through that practice of darkness. He said he has witnessed the mighty power of God through Jesus Christ and that has kept him alive. He is currently at El-Bethel Prayer Centre of the Church of Pentecost in Ho, Volta Region.
