V/R: Orientation and Prayers for BECE Candidates

The PIWC-Ho of The Church of Pentecost has held a preparation programme for BECE Candidates on Saturday, 5th August 2023 in the church’s auditorium at Mawuli Estate, in Ho.

The main speaker Mr Joseph Mawuena, a Chief Examiner and the Regional Vice Chairman for Scripture Union took the candidates through the ‘dos and don’ts’ before, during and after the examination.

Quoting 2 Timothy 1: 7 and Isaiah 47: 10
Mr Joseph Mawuena asked the candidates to be confident, bold and not to be afraid.
He advised the candidates not to learn into the midnight and also not to engage in any substances or drugs in their efforts to study.
“Prepare yourself psychologically, spiritually and physically.
Go early and know your sitting place and have the search by invigilators.
Search yourself first and be sure of having no unwanted item.”, he told the candidates.

Among others, Mr Joseph Mawuena added that, “Own the booklet by writing how your name as registered for the exams. Write your index number and name of the paper.
Read the instructions carefully and be conversant with the rubrics. It is necessary to write your index number, know it off head.
Subject your self to the instructions and pass well.
Read through the questions and do your selections. Answer your questions in the order you can easily tackle. A fresh question must be started on a fresh page.
Leave 2 lines in between sub questions of a major question.
Let your presentation be pleasing. Write simple sentences.
Draw attention to the invigilators about blank question papers.
Comport and order your self properly.
Do not be in hurry to go out after you have finished answering the questions.”

Teachers and parents who were around added their word.
An opportunity of knowing and personalizing Jesus Christ as their Saviour by the participants was done by Elder Albert Abakah-Yawson, the Presiding Elder for PIWC-Ho.

Pastors David Francis Akayue and Isaac Aboagye took the candidates through a time of prayer.
There was a question and answer session. The participants were about 60 in number. They received pens, pencils and other souvenirs from the organizers
