In Loving Memory Of Simon Wilberforce Kwami Tsadidey, 1948-2023.

At the feet of the Adaklu Mountain today, Saturday, 3rd June, 2023, at Adaklu Tsriefe, were persons from all walks of life, the clergy, academicians, educators, doctors, scholars, royals, politicians, etc.
They had gathered to attend the memorial service and funeral of a distinguished academic giant, a college principal, a true hero of his people, Mr Simon Wilberforce Kwami Tsadidey.

Reading through his autobiography, all was evident that he persistently changed the status quo and reached the apex in his field.

Mr S. W. K. Tsadidey, an unsung hero of the society, he authored a lot of books which facilitated the teaching and learning of English Language especially in the Colleges of Education. I remember using some copies back in college.

I understand he told his people to say it as he is and avoid exaggerations and untruths in his tribute. That is a sign of his boldness and truthfulness, to call a spade a spade.

Running through the tributes were his generosity, ability to see and develop talents, very friendly and cheerful, a great mentor and a leader, a motivator and a counselor. Other remarks are his being a disciplinarian, firm, frank and confident and many more.

Mr Tsadidey made a success out of his own life and had extraordinary passion for excellence. He was a role model who impacted many lives especially as being a teacher educator. He illuminated love and passion towards his duties.

Mr S. W. K. Tsadidey of blessed memory had a gentle spirit and a quiet disposition.
He was a one time principal of Peki College of Education (1997-2007) He was also a Consultant on Teacher Education to the Government of Ghana, an expert in the art of teaching English Language and an alumni of Leeds University, United Kingdom.

Giving the homily, the clergyman had this to say:
“Purpose to do good.
Write your own story truthfully.
This son refused to be swallowed up, he moved and did some thing better for himself.
Parents are admonished that their kids are not useless.
I am rising up to change the situation.
You were born not to be the same.
Don’t forget your mates when you make it.”

Mr S. W. K. Tsadidey is survived by a wife, children and grandchildren.
There is also a library in his honour at Adaklu Tsriefe, near Ho in the Volta Region.

May Mr S. W. K. Tsadidey aka Fo Kwami and all the dearly departed rest in the perfect peace of the Lord.
