enyomedia’s train moved from our base in Ho, that is Central or Mid Volta and landed at Southern Volta specifically Agbozume to mourn the passing of the late Mr Christopher K Blewuada .

Going southwards, the landscape changes into lowlands with pockets of lagoons. Coconut trees are seen everywhere.


There are a lot of snacks such as dzowoe, a mixture of corn or rice flour and spices rolled into balls, agbelikaklo, that is milled fresh cassava with some additives then is rolled into balls and fried, and akpornor( cassava flour biscuits). There are shallots, onion, salt, local rice and many others.

There are readily available foods such as yakeyake, fried potatoes, etc and various locally made drinks. The fried fish here has a unique taste because it is freshly harvested and processed with coconut oil.


The chief dance of the people is Agbadza.
One fascinating sight was that the elderly men who wore big shorts, with top (jumper) and men’s cloth, (sometimes the cloth matches with the top), almost all of them wore hats.
The people are friendly and easily welcome visitors into their gathering.
